HYVE to Exhibit, Joins List of Speakers at CEA Summit at IALR Institute Conference Center October 25th and 26th

HYVE Indoor Farming Systems, a solutions-based, technology manufacturer of Controlled Environment Agriculture systems today announced it will be participating in the inaugural CEA Summit East Conference in Danville, Virginia on October 25th and 26th. The event will be held at the Virginia Tech Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) CEA Innovation Center.
The CEA Summit East is presented by INDOOR AG-CON and brings together industry and academia to “share research, business strategies and build partnerships to drive future growth for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) sector and its stakeholders.”

HYVE is a Central Virginia-based brand of DASCOM Americas and offers complete hydroponic growing solutions aimed at those wanting to participate in or invest in the vertical indoor farming industry.

HYVE systems are different from other CEA offerings on the market due to the completeness of the system architecture. According to Ron Acorn, President of HYVE, “Our systems provide a total and complete solution for indoor farming all available from one source. We trace our origin to the LED lighting industry and initially began in CEA by offering a range of LED grow lights. Over time this has evolved to complete systems that include everything from heavy duty racking, HVAC, controls, food grade trays, robotics, nursery, seeding, and harvesting equipment and more.” According to Acorn, the company is now implementing a comprehensive artificial intelligence add-on to the system that will allow for revolutionary plant and system monitoring. “HYVE fits well into our portfolio of brands because we are a technology company, and our mission is always to make our customers successful” according to Acorn.

Dr. Paul Edmondson, Chief Scientist and Researcher at HYVE will be among the group of noted speakers and panelists discussing current trends, influences, successes, and the state of CEA. Edmondson is a seasoned agriculture expert and has spent years in traditional farming and greenhouse management before his work in the CEA space. He holds advanced degrees including his PhD from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Edmondson is excited about CEA because as he says: “Controlled Environment Agriculture provides growers and investors with the opportunity to provide healthy, clean, fresh choices to consumers around the world while mitigating many of the environmental forces that have previously made such offerings impossible.”

According to Ken Bryant, Director of Marketing for HYVE, “CEA is really a revolutionary way to feed the world’s growing population while preserving natural resources. HYVE’s hydroponic system utilizes 90-95% less water than if crops were grown with conventional methodologies. An indoor environment also takes away the uncertainty of weather factors and eliminates the need for harmful herbicides and pesticides. Indoor farming is clean, predictable, and offers the ability for accelerated crop growth resulting in excellent return on investment for the grower while giving consumers unmatched and safer food choices. HYVE systems are easy to market because everyone must eat, and we want them to eat well and healthy. The demand for fresh food is not going away.”

HYVE is a business unit of DASCOM Americas which serves the Americas markets and is owned in whole by DASCOM Holdings, a Hong Kong-based company with more than 30 years of experience in providing technology solutions. The company does business in more than eighty countries around the globe and offers diverse solutions for customers in a broad range of markets.
